Singapore is set to host the richest race in its 172 year racing history after being selected as the location for the first international China Equine Cultural Festival (CECF).

The Press Conference for 2015 CECF Singapore was held at the Swatch Art Peace Hotel in Shanghai on Jan 13, 2015. The event joins the prestigious owners, racing professionals, potential sponsors and media together to announce the launching of the festival.

The event organizer, China Horse Club (CHC), and the CECF representative, Mr Wu Zhi Cai, joined to sign a strategic cooperation memorandum with six organizations, namely China Daily, Hurun Report, the Asia-Pacific Finance Council, Pacific Links, Caissa touristic and Oceans-Marketing.

The running of the $3.05m CECF Singapore Cup will be one of the highlights of the CECF, China’s premier lifestyle, cultural and sporting event which will draw an audience from Singapore and China as well as from South East Asia, Europe, Australasia and North America.

The CECF Singapore will be held over the weekend of 21st-22nd February 2015 during the Chinese New Year and will add glamour and colour to festivities already set to take place in Singapore. The CECF Singapore will position Singapore as a ‘cultural bridge’ between East and West. The CECF Singapore is unique:

  • As the first international lifestyle, cultural and sporting event of its kind ever to come to Singapore
  • In its ability to draw a targeted Chinese demographic to Singapore
  • In hosting the running of the richest race in Singapore’s history

“CECF Singapore has captured the imagination of the Chinese who are excited at the prospect of coming to a dynamic centre like Singapore,” says Mr. Teo Ah Khing, Chairman of China Horse Club. “Singapore is the perfect gateway to connect Chinese to the world and the world to China.”

The CECF is the signature event of the China Horse Club and was created to cater for the social and business requirements of the club’s elite membership while also appealing to mass market audiences. Singapore was selected as the host venue for the inaugural international CECF from a shortlist of global locations. In 2014 the CECF drew a diverse audience to its three day festival including 200 CEOs, Chairmen and Chairwomen.

In 2015 the CECF Singapore will feature a number of highlights including:

  • Charity Cocktail Party:  Chinese artists Li Xiao Ling and Mao Wen Biao will headline an evening of art, entertainment and networking at Marina Bay Sand’s iconic ArtScience Museum
  • CECF Singapore Race Day: the Singapore Racecourse will be the venue for a day of racing and entertainment which will include international and local racehorses, trainers and jockeys.
  • The two races are the $3.05 million G1 CECF Singapore Cup (1800m) and the G3 CECF Singapore Classic (1400m) with prizemoney of $200 000.
  • Closed door shopping experiences
  • Tailored seminars
