China’s champion jockey, Qin Yong, will bid to continue his international success with a quartet of rides in Barbados overnight. The Tujiazu jockey has stamped himself as one of the most consistent riders in the Caribbean centre in his short time on the island and the support from local trainers franks this consistency and his hard work.
At this weekend’s program Qin Yong will partner Even Stephens (The Cohobblopot Handicap), St Tropes (The Foreday Morning Jam Handicap), Vitality (The Crop Over Festival Handicap) and Reward Me (The Soca Royal Handicap) for a variety of proven trainers and is excited about the opportunities ahead.
“The support from trainers continues to grow in Barbados and that support is much appreciated,” Qin Yong said.
“I think I can have a good day. Even Stephens, St Tropes, Vitality and Reward Me are a good book of rides so hopefully I can have some luck.
I rode St Tropes this week, which was important and I am looking forward to riding him again under race conditions.”
